Amazing place
The photo shown above is the Ford Sawmill at L’Anse, courtesy of the Baraga County Historical Society Museum. The sawmill was located where Celotex now stands; what remained of the sawmill was torn down by Celotex in 1956. The grassy area at the left of the photo is now a park which includes volleyball courts and a small playground, and the L’Anse Marina would be located just right of this scene. This picture appeared in the Sentinel January 8, 2003.
